Meet Todd Welch and Katie Strength, the creative duo behind OuterRim. With backgrounds in professional theater, costume design, directing, and storytelling, they’ve spent years honing their craft—on stage, behind the scenes, and now in the workshop. Their shared love of audiobooks, caffeine-fueled workdays, and the art of making a big mess before making magic has built OuterRim into what it is today.

Todd Welch

Todd Welch brings decades of experience in professional theater and teaching to OuterRim Creatives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in theater with an emphasis in scenic design and is responsible for overseeing the company’s business operations, including marketing, customer relations, financial management, and logistical coordination. Currently pursuing a Master’s in the Business of Art and Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art, His creative contributions, particularly in scenic design and prop creation, are essential to projects requiring intricate detail. Todd’s leadership and expertise ensure that OuterRim continues to provide exceptional, tailored costumes for its clients.

Katie Strength

Katie Strength leads OuterRim’s creative process with decades of experience in theater acting, directing and costume design. Her mastery of fabric selection, pattern creation, and costume production makes her an indispensable part of the business. Katie’s expertise in professional theater ensures that every custom costume not only meets but exceeds clients' expectations, from cosplay enthusiasts to high-level productions.
